I understand that people make mistakes. I also understand that customer service is important for businesses to succeed. What is the 'common' practice when items are mis-priced?

I took a product up to the counter and laid down the won. The lady told me the item was mis-labed and the price is really something else. I paid the difference. I also felt inclined to say,"the price tag says #### so that is what you are getting." Anybody with retail experience that has some insight into this?

I'm pretty sure that most chain stores in the States are required to charge you whatever the listed price is, even if it's ridiculously wrong.

I don't think that's a legal requirement, but some stores have that as a policy.

They are not required to do squat. Many, however, will make certain adjusts or give you some credit to maintain good customer relations.

Sorry, I meant it as a policy coming from above, i.e. corporate, not that they're legally required to do so.
