| Thats right! Dont you know that the good, honest Korean people ALWAYS honor the contract? They ALWAYS pay the bill, and on time to boot! Its THE EXACT SAME with credit cards! Koreans always pay on time, every time! |
But when a citizen defaults, they can take steps to forcibly reclaim the money owed. Non-citizens can simply return home and then the options to force a repayment are cost prohibitive.
If us foreigners really did have an excellent track record on paying past bills, then we would be getting stacks of application forms to fill out on the flight over. |
Perhaps.
On the other hand, I very much doubt that there is an accessible database of phone bill defaulters broken down by nationality. I suspect rather that it is the anecdotal belief that a foreigner, more often than not, will run up huge phone bills and then flee Korea. |

As far as I can tell, nothing!
The IMF bailout was not due to currency rates, although it did influence them. |

I've had several buses refuse to stop for me when I was the only person waiting at the stop (and yes, I did raise my hand and try to flag them down).

That's the way to go. Buy the phone, buy the time ahead, no problem. LG telecom, for one, will set you up in ten minutes. |
