I hope you'll be happy to know that I've decided to attend Yonsei, a big part of it based on your recommendations.

Congrats, see you here next semester.

Unless you're like 25, you might want to mostly pass on the social stuff, though, it's so focused on drinking. Blech. |
Well it is a bit, but not all of it, we have been trying to change that. Either way, its fun. |

I'm interested in the Yonsei GSIS program. My plan is to apply for the 2012 Spring semester. Could any current student send me the GSIS course list?
Thank you. |

Hi all - the posts in this thread are incredibly informative!
Does anyone have information regarding foreigners and admission to law school in Korea? I understand that the legal education system in Korea was changed recently (law school vs. law major as an undergraduate). I am seriously contemplating studying in Korea and trying to decide between a GSIS program and law school (if possible).
sidenote: I can speak/read/write Korea rather well so taking classes in Korea should not be a problem.
Thanks all!
bruindke - if you're still following this thread, I wanted to ask you about the NIIED scholarship - would it be ok for me to email you? |

this discussion has been super insightful! I just handed in my applications for KU and Yonsei.
Does anybody have any insight into KU?
I'm applying to the Korean Studies programs under the GSIS. I got my BA in Korean and i'm hoping to get my MA and PH.D in Korean as well to be a professor one day - -
bruindke - - if you still read this, i was wondering what your interview was like with SNU and how long it was. I have my interview this Thursday and I have no idea what I should expect or prepare~ |

I am considering an MAtesol or MA in ELT or Aplied Lingusitics either distance learning from the UK or maybe attending here in Korea.
1. Would one be able to study one of the above at a Korean uni and receive scholarships?
2. My Korean ability is very low despite over 5 years here - but would that even matter on an MA that is focussed on teaching English anyway?
3. In the UK we don't had gpa's. How then would I be assesed for entry or for funding?
4. Yeah again - do korean unis even offer those courses / those cources plus scholarships?
I've looked on a few of their websites, but boy are they poorly desgined websites, very hard to find anything out at all. |
