Just a quick question. If my contract finishes August 31st, is it possible to get a extension until say 5th September so i can wire money home/sort stuff out after i finish work? Or do you have to leave the day after? Whats the longest you can extend after your official contract is up?
Thanks in advance for the info! |

As long as you have the air ticket out of Korea you can extend until the date of the flight (up to 30 days past the end of your ARC).
There is no cost and you can do it at your local immigration office OR on-line (but you need to be able to forward or show your ticket out to get the extension).

Does it have to be a one-way ticket? seems like the answer would be yes, but if you were to hand in your ARC on the way out, wasn't sure if a round-trip would be ok. |

It does NOT need to be a one-way ticket but it does need to be out of Korea.
Return on the next flight is fine - you would enter under a new visa or visa waiver class.

Visa waiver class? Does coming back as a tourist fall under that category? |

If you come back as a tourist and do NOT have a visa (of some kind) then yes, you enter Korea in the visa waiver class (B1 or B2(Canadian)).

| I don't mean to derail the thread but my contract has a clause that says I have to leave Korea within a week of completing my contract. Is that just a bs clause I can ignore or should I be concerned? Asking because my contract's up a month before my visa expires. |

I don't think this is derailing the thread. It's relevan | |
