Personally, I am an obese American. I made sure that there wasn't any physical duties involved with my job (such as sports or field trips) before I signed my contract.
I told my students that I've been fat for as long as I can remember and that I've never been able to loose weight. Most of them are very understanding and I almost never get made fun of.
Another thing to be aware of is that (if you are very overweight like me) that you might get sore knees while standing so long from teaching and that you will want to be very careful on the buses here if you have extra trouble with your balance. |
 More lies from Mr/Ms Recruiter Troll. The majority of old/older/less sightly looking/truly fat foreigners will not be given the opportunity to work in competitive Seoul where hagwons pick and choose teachers mostly based on age and appearance as they all fight for a piece of the market.
The majority of recruiters feed this and also helped create this biased approach by denying good jobs to people with good qualifications who are older and don't look like models. This has been noticeable over the past 3 years. Why don't you just poq from the eslcafe? |

| OP, don't worry about getting a job here. What you should be prepared for though (as is obvious from this thread as well as others on Dave's) is having to deal with the large number of disgustingly judgmental, insecure, and childish foreigners. Just get all your documents in order, present yourself as best you can, and you will have no trouble finding a job. |
