I wonder if the Church is against gay plural marriage.
Thousands run in underwear to protest Utah laws
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) Thousands of people stripped to their underwear and ran through Salt Lake City to protest what they called the "uptight" laws of Utah.
Undie Run organizer Nate Porter says the goal of the event Saturday was to organize people frustrated by the conservative nature of the state's politics.
Nudity was prohibited by organizers. Participants donned bras, panties, nightgowns, swimwear or colorful boxer shorts and some added political messages by expressing support for causes like gay marriage on their chests, backs or legs.
Salt Lake City is the home of the Mormon church, which is a vocal opponent of gay marriage.
Porter estimates 3,000 people participated in the run, which began in downtown Salt Lake City and circled past the state Capitol building about a mile away.

| You're displaying your ignorance. The LDS church is against plural marriage and has been for over a hundred years. |

Wait a minute. You seriously thought that I, knowing the Church is against gay marriage, believed they would instead condone gay plural marriage, and I'm the ignorant one???
You're also displaying your lack of sense of humor. I suppose Dave's needs a tongue-in-cheek icon.

You know, back in the day, people would do things like publish newsletters, hold town hall meetings, and deliver public speeches and conduct charitable and service-rendering works as a way of working to expand freedom.
Now we strip to our underwear.
Sorry, but maybe that's an indicator that you can't really handle freedom or are ill prepared for more freedom. The greater your freedom, the greater your responsibility.
That's not freedom, that's anarchistic-hedonism.
This is like black people arguing for more freedom during the 60s by doing a minstrel show. |

Explain to me how running in your undies does anything to promote the cause of freedom or make you look like a worthwhile member of society.
Oh right, I should just chill out and poke more smot and then I'd understand.
Put it this way, if you can't take the time to articulate your cause and present it in a matter befitting someone with, I don't know, a middle school level of education, then your cause is probably nonsense.
Seriously, I think I saw this bid to express someone's freedom done once back in the first grade. |

Because it's an effective way to get noticed.... if you don't get noticed than what point have you made? I would personally never do it, but as a strategy to get attention to your cause it's not a bad idea. Before this, I know Utah was conservative, but now I'm thinking about it more. If you wrote a letter to the editor, then whatever who cares, or even reads it. I don't know what poking smot is, but you should probably chill out some more instead of always hearkening back to the good old days and expressing some sort of moral outrage and condescension as your knee jerk reaction. |
