OK,
Before anybody snarks back with a post saying I should just do a search on my own to find what I need instead of wasting people's time, whenever I search here, all I get back is an empty white screen.
Has anybody worked through this agency - Canada English Recruitment?
http://www.englishcanada.org/
They posted back from the Serious Teachers site saying all the normal recruiter things, but one thing stood out.
They said they wanted a TEFL Certificate. Their wording is:'
Copy of your TEFL Certificate or Diploma (100% required) Serious TEFL preferred.
Serious TEFL is the course that the people at Serious Teachers sell.
So your input is appreciated.
Thanks. |

Head snarker here. Ya the search sucks. Check my signature for a better way to search. But this snarky guy is happy you have asked clear questions. You have been specific in what you want. I love it. Plus you said you tried. You wrote a nice detailed post, even provided a link.
Good Job. Wish more people where like you.
Never used this Recruiter. But two things pop up to consider.
First why they ask for a TEFL is they then can sell you one. The site looks like they provide training. So if you do not have wow, your lucky they can train you and even later they can even find you a job. It can be good, but it is a little dodgy, Sometimes the TEFL schools can have arrangement with private academies to supply teachers. Which might be good but also bad as they can sucker you with a job that a person without a cert could have got.
Second thing that might be why they ask is recent changes to some programs. I think SMOE and EPIK and many other other public school programs now want at least a degree and TEFL cert to be a public school assistant. So maybe why the recruiter asks is because they are matching up with public schools.
Many of the available hagwon jobs really do not care about the cert, But having one is a minor little prop/help. Universities and some public schools will care.
Some threads to check out.
