Newbie question.

If I were to apply in August, would it be too late for September positions in either public or private schools? Do these schools hire for October? (due to teachers not showing up or leaving)

For public schools, yes... most likely too late. They start hiring early (like, around now), but private schools are pretty much hiring year-round... The real hiring times for private schools are for February and for September, but others have teachers drop out and such, so you can almost always find something... whether it's great or not... umm... but if you look at the job listings site on here, it's full of "ASAP! DOCS READY GET ON A PLANE!" jobs, so~ good luck! ^.^

I got a good GEPIK job while applying in July. Any reason why you want to wait until August?

I think June would be a good time to get your paperwork in order. Is it 6 months for the CRC? That would give you plenty of waiting time.

soomin made a good point, if you are already in Korea, you could easily snag an ASAP job. If you aren't already in Korea, then don't count on it.

I would like to apply earlier but my current contract in Shanghai finishes at the end of July. I would still have to head back to Toronto to prepare my documents and such.
