| For the FBI background check do we need to get fingerprinted? IF so where do you go? Also how long did it take? |

Yes.
The police station.
Varies depending on how clueless the guy doing the prints is. |

| I am a first-time teacher so I am interested in the process to obtaining my criminal background check as well. My recruiter won't give me clear instructions. I live in the US and I was wondering if it matters where I get my fingerprints done? Should I just go down to the police station with the Fingerprints form from the site? Do I have to make an appointment to do that? Or should I go on the Cogent site and register to get it done at another nearby location (and if so, am I supposed to register with the Department of Education?) If I am applying DIRECTLY to the FBI, am I receiving a nationwide check and do I have I include a note requesting it to be apostilled? |
