We want you to be like martina and simon.....

What the heck does that even mean?

Dance around the room and be the cheesiest teacher I can possibly be? I had no idea those two had that much pull anyway.

How would you guys respond to that?

Those two are an embarrassment. They walk around town like a circus side show.

Your employer, yes, probably wants you to come in dressed like a hipster with pink and neon green highlights, maybe a mohawk with thick rimmed black glasses and make goofy faces and "witty" juvenile comments.

Oh and how would I respond? I'd say that every teaching style is different and bring different things to the table. If they don't accept that, screw em.

I think the main thing is they want you to be enthusiastic about everything Korean and at the same time geeky enough to make them feel superior. The same reason why Michael Aaronson., Isaac Durst and that Italian woman with the horrible voice are so popular here.

. And even though they have both lived here for several years now and often interview Korean singers who don't speak English, neither of them have learned enough Korean to ask even simple questions in Korean during their interviews. I guess it's good they've found a way to be somewhat successful, but I can't say I have much respect for them at all.

I didn't know that about Martina and Simon but now I do I actually respect them a little bit more.

Absolutely. Do the job that you were hired to do to the best of your abilities. If the school want somebody "like Martina and Simon," then that's the recruiter's responsibility. Not yours.

lol, i dyed my hair red/orange and was told I should dye it back to black (my hair is brown) to look more Korean. Dont worry man, just do as you want.

Everyone has an opinion, and Koreans just say it all the time. Make sure you have an opinion too! One big thing Korea did to me was to make me realize who I was. Man, ive been told I was everything under the sun and the opposite, sometimes the same day! ha

I was just watching their video. Hey, thats cool too. Shows theyre some different foreigners living here.

Your CT probably said that because you know in Korea, you NEVER do anything but be positive about Korea (in your workplace) Smile

I reckon that Simon guy is a homosexual. I know he's married but I think they will eventually divorce after he comes out.
The other guys look like clowns, but at least that Isac guy is making money. Has anyone ever met any of these guys? I used to see Simon and Martina round my neighbourhood but I never said hi because I thought they sucked.
