Funny how they get 'offended' by a wink or Bill Gate's handshake. But hang a dog from a tree and break out the blowtorch and nobody blinks.

They really need to re-evaluate what causes them offence.

Yes, there continues to be a lot of animal abuse going on in Korea. There are also more support groups for animals, and many, many more Koreans speaking out for animal rights, compared to even a mere five years ago. Things are getting better.

Also, the Seoul Veggie Club (originally started as a social group to aid expat vegetarians in South Korea) now has a lot of Korean members, many of whom are involved in animal rights issues...

so youn park has been in the news a fair bit lately in korea. she caused quite a rumpus last year when she walked onto some farm and rescued the dogs. you can follow/support her on Facebook.
koreans are getting a bit more educated about animal abuse but they still have a long way to go. i think the pig incident helped a lot after the international press that got. it made Koreans on the whole look like barbarians. there was a docu on tv about it agin last week and alot of people seemed to be condemning it, so it still hasn't gone away.
in fairness though, they cant treat other humans with respect a lot of the time, so theyre not doing too badly. relatively.

The live pig getting ripped in half a few years ago was one of the most vile things I've ever seen.

And what is up with all of these dogs with their ears and tails dyed different colors and wearing clothes? I have even seen quite a few wearing little shoes. This is just plain .

What about NETs which packed dogs in small cages then stick them in a dark cold hold of an airplane and fly them thousands of miles to a totally new location that is confusing to the animal and may expose them to diseases that they have not encountered.
