Sounds good and needed but it'll take a few years to kick in ..

FYI, from next week, July. Teeth Scaling/ cleaning is available once per year for about 13,000 with medical insurance..

The quickly aging population in South Korea, plus the increase in the four major diseases (mostly related to cancer from what I gathered from the article), is one of the reasons why the country has decided to make changes to National Health Services. I see this as a good thing, but obviously it will affect personal taxes and everyone will eventually have to chip in to make up the difference in what is being added. I have to say that NHIC has been good to me in the country along with the other private insurances we have for my family. My wife had a serious illness and almost died, and I have only positive things to say about the way the system worked to keep us from going bankrupt during the time she spent in the hospital for 6 months.

Things are much better these days, and I too am glad they are working to improve the NHIC.

@Saram,

Is that reduced-cost cleaning/scaling at any dentist, or just a select few?
