| My attitude and outlook on life has changed. I feel almost like I'm drifting in korea not advancing in life but coasting. Many of my friends are married with children and I'm still single. My friends have houses and big time jobs while I'm still generally where I started. I know one day I'll look back and miss this but at least I'm debt free unlike the majority of my friends. |

Wasn't this the same poster from a few months back bragging about how man y 'hot chicks' he was banging in some rural area of the country? |

Yes he was telling us how he doesn't like to speak Korean to Korean women any more cos they immediately jump on him. |

Top the OP:If you feel you are drifting, then you probably are. If you want the family, career and houses of your friends, then go get them. Its not that hard, you just have to set goals.
Success depends on your own personal standard however, do not compare yourself to others. If you're happy where you are, then don't let anyone tell you what you should or shouldn't be doing.
Despite the formula people push onto eachother (House+ career+ car + spouse+ baby)- its not for everyone. Looking around today it should be obvious that the last thing the world needs is even more people. Happiness does not consist of fulfilling other people's expectations for your life. Not many people are strong enough to resist societal pressure, but thankfully we are all unique and have our own paths to follow. |

OP, your problem can be found in the language of your thread title "Korea has changed me". You believe that outside forces and your environment are responsible for your happiness and purpose in life. You don't believe you are in control or responsible. Korea hasn't changed you. You've changed you. Take control!

Nothing of what you just said relates to Korea at all.
If you were back home and working a similar job with little chance of advancement, single and living in an apartment you'd still be envious of your friends careers and families.
It's not Korea, it's you. You're getting older and you're realizing maybe you need to start thinking long term. |
