Can anyone here relate to this scenario of returning home after living the expat life? ㅋㅋㅋ

Nope. Not at all.

In fact, I found the video totally annoying. I've been here for years, but don't act like that. I'd cringe if someone returned after a year in Korea... and brought toilet paper to a restaurant. Rolling Eyes

I dont think most people in Korea even act like that.

I liked it. It's obviously hyperbole, but she seems to at least understand Korea rather than simply fetishize it, unlike a certain rather annoying blogging couple.

You can tell she's faking it near the end when she has a drink of soju and reacts like it's a glass of fine wine.

Not the slightest bit realistic. At the table she should have eaten like a pig, coughed all over her friends' food, hacked, yelled into her phone, and a whole host of other objectionable behavior.

She is kind of cute, though. So she's forgiven.

I liked it. The reaction of the friends and other bystanders was good. Smile I think it should have cut at 3:25, though. The whole, "Ahhh...I'm back in Korea again" seemed a little heavy handed. Took itself too seriously after doing a decent comedy routine.

I've actually fallen victim to asking for "Cider"... that one I could relate to...but the rest no.

That was pathetic!

After more than 13 years here, I have never, and will never, act like that.

I've asked for it at Korean restaurants in the States and then I get pissed when they bring me Sprite. It's just not the same!

She forgot to comment on the friend's "brackness" and how much she misses eating dog soup.

Could have been done much better.

I used "handphone" a lot when I went back home.

Any English speaking foreigner who ever uses "fighting" should be taken out back and beat with a very big stick.

But, I'd LOVE it if we could do the "shout out" to waiters/waitresses in bars and casual restaurants back home. Not the nice places of course, but definitely bars and Bennigan's type places.

The biggest problem I had when I went home was ignoring or dodging questions from people close to me, as if answering them honestly would result in some kind of conflict. For example, when my friends asked me to go out that night, I pretended that I couldn't understand the question.

I've been back now a little over 13 months and there are still a number of things I do that are Korea related though not as outrageous as that video (which IMHO was pathetic) I still count out papers I hand out in class in Korean, lapse into kamsameda in places, take off shoes when coming into my house along with a number of other things. Yeah I get some looks but it's nothing bad

That video, UGGHHHH it made me gag!!!

Please tell me you are keeping a diary, with the intent of publishing/performing these.
Comedy genius...really.
