OK, I downloaded a .mid file a couple of days ago for a Chritmas production I'm writing and now that's the only sound I can get my computer to produce. No music, no "clicks" when I change web pages, no Windows XP Hello & Goodbye songs... NADA. I can't figure out what got switched off or on or whatever.

Any suggestions?

What does the Sound Scheme say on the Sounds tab for Sounds and Audio Devices in the Control Panel? I don't know anything about your problem, but that's the first place I'd look. Switch it back to 'Windows Default'.

Are you using the System Restore feature of Windows (XP)? You might try rolling back to the last restore point and see if that helps any.

Thanks for the suggestions. I fiddled around with it some more and finally worked out the problem.

Cool
