Opponents of change say criminalizing marital rape would go against Korea's family and legal system. Couples have an obligation to agree to their partner's sexual demands," says attorney Ha Chang-woo. Some opponents warn that an accusation of marital rape could be misused and lead to a higher divorce rate and the destruction of families. The Supreme Court has handed down several decisions since the 1970s refusing to recognize marital rape.

>Couples have an obligation to agree to their partner's sexual demands,"
Somehow I get the feeling that if a woman demanded that her husband pay attention to her and not to the room salon girls that it wouldn't stand up in court.
>Some opponents warn that an accusation of marital rape could be misused and lead to a higher divorce rate and the destruction of families.
Yes. Just like a false accusation of murder could be misused and lead to numerous social problems. Which is why murder should be legal. |

Right.
And I hear that the Room Salons for females (host bars) get busted, where the room salons that cater to men are virtually untouched.
Glad I'm not a Korean woman! |

43 percent of married women in 'other man' syndrome: survey
More than 43 percent of 16,947 married women aged between 24 and 35 said they are seeing someone other than their husbands and 57.3 percent of them are engaged in sexual relationships.

Job, to some women, is just to snare a man
Many young women in Korea may hold out a banner protesting all the disadvantages they face in the workplace, but the moment these women find qualified husbands, many voluntarily choose to depend on their partner rather than make their own way in the world. A growing number of women in their 20s also seemed to share the idea that their occupations merely served as a way to meet a good partner.
