There is a world map on the wall outside of my classroom. Some student chopped Japan out with a razor knife, and of course renamed the bodies of water.
I'm glad it wasn't my personal map. |

Why don't you whack a big 'Takeshima Island' up there before their next class? |

Well, I'm tempted to rename the entire Korean Peninsula, "East Florida," however I'm sure it wouldn't sit well with administration. |

We were doing countries and nationalities in my advanced elementary class Wednesday night. Sure enough no sooner than I had passed out the (photocopied) maps then they were crossing out Japan and drawing in Dokdo. I figured it couldn't hurt to teach them that someone from Japan is called a 'nip'. I'm sure that my Japanese friend in the US would be able to laugh about it.

Why don't you support them? Maybe they'll pay attention more if you respect their politics. |

Is Canada still intact in your personal map? |

Northern Minnesota is still as cold, barren, and boring as ever. |

This one lost me, too???
I looked, but couldn't find where anyone said they couldn't keep the students' attention.
Am I missing something? |

This is classic-- the malignant dwarf is building a nuke and will test it soon. The govt, which doesn't want to deal with it, uses the media to whip up anti Japanese feeings over a silly piece of rock. And your average Kim, Pak and Chung buys it hook, line and sinker. |
