Is there a place to buy traditional goods/crafts in Busan? I need to buy some souvenirs for home.

I was on a similar mission in Busan yesterday. We checked out Shanghai Street near Busan Station, which is supposed to be a shopping district for tourists, but all we found were a lot of seedy Russian sailors who were leering at my wife, so we didn't stay very long. It looked more like an Itaewon-type place to me, but if you dig around you might find something.

Not specific to Busan, but sometimes temples have adjoining teahouse/craft emporiums with giftable Korean stuff.

The main temple attraction there is Beomosa, which has only your cheesy, garden variety gift shop. Nice place to visit, but try somewhere different for shopping.

I've read that the two biggest shopping areas are Nampo dong and Seomyeon area.....but I want to buy touristy stuff.

What area do you think is best for shopping overall then?

Try Nampodong. You can find almost everything there if you look long enough in those markets.

Seomyeon is more for department store shopping and such.

The best place is The Can market part of Nampo-Dong. Can be tricky to find though. It is not nearly as orientated to tourists as Insa-dong however.
