I'm starting this post to help those who are looking for jobs. Seeing that almost every job involves a recruiter, let's list recruiters that you've had and tell whether or not you would go through them again. Hopefully, this will help the Newbies and also help those that are looking to resign.

I'll start, I've gone through May Kim from Canada. She lied every chance she had. Told me that I'd be living a short walk from the school, when in reality I am a far distance, and this costs me money. Lied on many other important issues, and told me exactly what I wanted to hear. Her goal was to get me to sign up as quickly as possible. I would not recommend her. PM me if you want to here more.

Also, I've heard good things about Footprints. I've never worked with them though.

This would be a great topic to sticky...but unfortunately do to the potential loss of revenues I suspect it will be deleted.

I recommend everyone stay away from F-english with a 100 foot pole. The dude's name is Jim Choi and he is a complete liar in almost every form.

It's a database more than anything but if you want to add any comments write

and write that below as well. If the recruiter's not on the list just click Edit, follow the format used (it's in alphabetical order) and then there will be a new link to the page.

Comments should be objective though, so "Andrew Kim screwed me" will get taken out whereas "One teacher claims to have not received a full month's salary after being fired" or "Andrew Kim has a post up on (url address here) that claims that teachers must make a separate bank account to be paid directly from the recruiter, which is not right" will be kept the way it is. If you could include their addresses and phone numbers as well that would be useful.

Then again, who verifies that these are legitimate complaints and not just baseless slander?

Bad recruiters abound in the market but there are good ones as well. Then there are bad teachers too, how do you screen their complaints from those who truly have been screwed.

I don't agree with a slander campaign, but the intention of this post is to help those that are looking for jobs. I thought the whole purpose of this website was to share information. I agree with your comments, Homer, that this post may be a dangerous one in that some individuals may use it improperly. However, as an individual who is looking to sign at a new place in Korea, I feel that an increase in discourse and scrutiny of recruiters would better the quality of recruiters and help those who are good employees and want to work at good Hogwans. I am working in Korea now, and my first experience has been dreadful due to the misleading information I was given by my first recruiter. I would have been happy if someone had at least mentioned the deceptive recruiter that had placed me at my horrible school. I love Korea, I��m enthusiastic about teaching, I��m qualified and I know that there are better schools out there that would want someone like me.

Unfortunately, whenever a post is made where individuals are asked to share their personal opinions, it is met with large opposition. Why is it that whenever someone tries to initiate active discourse, there are immediate calls to discredit the entire post? Here's an idea Homer, rather than being hypocritical of this post, why not contribute. List the name of your recruiter. Tell us if he/she was a good recruiter. At least accept that there should be a discussion on recruiters. This would help the common good of all teachers. And yes....maybe not all teachers are good��but is this post not trying to discredit those teachers. Unfortunately, screening the teachers are the jobs of the schools here, and maybe they need to tighten their screening process (which is something I agree with).

In closing, SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES!!!! Create communication about your experiences. Please��lets help everyone out and increase communication.

That is as long as you are professional and reasonable in your demands.
