Some of you have said you wanted to see Korean movies subtitles in English, and KNTO is showing some in Seoul:

--- June: Il Mare
--- July: Bloody Beach
--- August: The Day a Pig Fell into a Well
--- September: Bicheonmoo
--- October: The Foul King
--- November: At the Gas Station
--- December: Tell Me Something

Probably not the latest movies, but it's something.

You should all see 'gas station' and 'foul king' if you want a few laughs!

DVD players eliminate any need that I have for going to Seoul to watch older Korean movies with subtitles. For those who don't have a DVD player, I recommend checking out a DVD bang(room) instead.

Or go to yongsan and spend about 70,000-80,000 and geta DVD drive for your computer.

I'm also in the middle of ripping two Korean movies - made a few mistakes but it should work this time - The way home () and Attack at the Gas Station (don't know the korean title right now).

That's really neat. I don't have (and never will have) a DVD player, so didn't know about that. Let me get this straight...any Korean movie out on DVD has English subtitles that can be activated? Will this work on an American (etc.) DVD player?

Not all, but nearly all Korean DVDs have English subtitles. DVDs are made region specific so in theory they won't work on machines out of their intended regions -- but there are plenty of DVD hack sites and you can also buy region free DVD players.

You can also buy a region-free player that resolves the need to use a hack. And some DVD's are region free themselves. I bought Christmas in August at costco and it is region free.
