I'm signing for my second year. Does that mean my boss should supply me with another one way flight home in the new contract. I plan to use my return ticket home as soon as the contract is finished (in July) and return for my second year.
Tks, for you advise.

Should your boss supply you with a ticket? Well, it's not his/her legal requirement but it would sure be a nice bonus for resigning . You could try negotiating for one or build the cost of an airfare into your salary.
Your boss is saving the cost (and stress) of advertising for a new employee or having to pay a recruiter. Plus your boss won't have to worry about training a newbie and you'll be productive as soon as you start. If he was signing on a new teacher, he'd most likely have to pay their airfare and (maybe)for a visa run. But you can just renew your E2 visa. I think you have lots of cards up for sleeve for negotiating this one.
Good luck! |
