It was hard enough to even get transcripts sent here. I had to get them sent to the embassy. What is this crap, I don't think it is real, I'm all for the transcripts.
I'm tired of dealing with Heather, Chad and Barbie (I kid you not) at 3:OO A.M
This is all just based on one of Dave's major client's $39 a month your are a "recruter.". Who would give 52 people the same bogus diploma and transcripts to a single immigration office?
Yes, our friends the recruiters.
Hi Dave, You know me personaly, Hi moderators. Let's be really nice to Orien recruters. To them all, aren't they wonderful?
My transcripts are legit. |

I get the title, but I don't understand the rambling much though......sorry.
But just as it is getting harder to submit paperwork to apply for a job, they are now dictating how the university should package and send their own credentials....
I love this country....but it just keeps on getting sadder and sadder....
They can dictate how foreigners come here, but they don't go after the Korean forgers and frauds who work in the universities. The ones who got their jobs based on "who they know" rather than "what they know" or based on the amount of "donations" they give to the univerisites every year to get or keep their jobs.
Again...sad.... |

Sorry, I can't resist. This just reminds me of the Marx Brothers movie, "Horse Feathers".
Groucho is the president of the University: "...where's the seal, where's the seal?..." Of course, Harpo brings in a live seal .... |

Stupid, this place is really becoming stupid. For those not having to go through this stupidity right now, laugh on.
I just had an application put in today to immigration. I provided them with unopened transcripts. Now they don't have a seal on the back, so are refused and I have to send some more. What a pathetic stupid system, they are putting in place.
They are really making us jump through hoops now, 4 years and all the paper work that I have had to provide means squat for a new job. Talk about absolutely stupid actions on their part. Just check with my University.
Anymore of this crap and they will be removing any chance of someone finding work or taking a job here. Man, my current boss is going to be pissed. He will have to buy me a oneway ticket to NZ (instead of just going for the cheaper option), as I might as well take this holiday now as the paperwork won't get done in time for me to stay in Korea or make it worth while to stay. |

Yep my old uni is getting fed up with sending out sealed transcripts to me !
its a pain, luckily they sent me 2 selaed ones this time one for me to keep!
If someone is going to forge the transcript then they could just as easily forge the seal on the back of an envelope - errm is that logical or not? |

Even after I have calmed down, I must admit I am still a little put out. Is the seal really necessary. The Degree, the transcripts, the past jobs, don't they mean anything. Is it only important if it has a seal. 4 years of Uni, 4 years in Korea comes down to a seal.
If I was sure that they were checking up on whether the seal was legit, then maybe I could understand. But as my boss said, do you really expect them to pay for all the phone calls it would take to confirm whether the seal is legit.
I am just annoyed I guess, that they know where I live and can send me a letter explaining that I need to leave the country at a certain date, but can't let me know the exact chages to thier immigration policy. I pay taxes, don't they count for anything here. One lousy stamp and piece of paper would have solved this problem months ago.
They are really opening up the doors for us aren't they. |

Most Foreign Firms Find Korea Less Than Friendly
Seven in 10 or 74 percent of foreign businesspeople in Korea say the government's policies bear no relation to its ostensible goal of turning the country into Northeast Asia's financial hub.

Foreigners Experience Difficulties in Living in Korea
Overall living conditions, including education, housing, medical care, transportation, immigration, and access to the Internet are pointed to as inconveniences. Not only inconveniences caused by different systems and customs in Korea, but also special discriminating practices, such as the practice of submitting two years of monthly rent in advance like a deposit, which is required of foreigners just because they are foreigners, are ubiquitous.... An official in the International Cooperation Division of Seoul City admitted, "The same complaints regarding visas, transportation, education, and environment are raised every year without being solved, due to the lack of cooperation from government agencies involved and their passive attitudes."

Ex-pats Describe Korea's Culture of Corruption
"Koreans always seem prepared to give out bribes. I was shocked by the culture and attitude of Koreans who feel no guilt despite breaking the law."

That's because you can buy fake degrees online.. we've all seen the ads or have gotten the junk mail. I guess that's one way of trying to reassure the public or themselves that the foreigner coming over graduated from a real university in such and such a country. But again, you raise a valid point about a fake seal.. but, with what's going on now.. it's not the wisest route to go... |

You might have seen the ads. I already had a degree, worked damm hard for it too. I just am pissed off that I followed all that I was told to do and then found they changed the rules again without telling me.
No, I am still pissed off. This has little to do with non degree holders and more to do with us. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to realise that the best way to find out if a person has a degree is to see if 1+1 = 2. Do your homework. They took it easy and now its bit them in the arse so they are punishing everyone for their mistake. They didn't work before, they don't want to work now, so they are covering their arse by making everyone do the work for them.
Let them think for themselves, this will bite them later and they can't see that today.
Enough with them. |
