|
|
I guess this isn't news to most, but seriously, alta-vista text translation can't do the job! Using my little dictionary is time consuming, but much more accurate.
Anyone else know of another, better, translator than babel fish??
Link to babel fish here, for those who dont know it: http://world.altavista.com/tr
Here's an example of the random gibberish it generates:

I used Babelfish about three times, for Spanish actually, and never went back again. What a complete garbage web site.
Your best bet, if you already know enough Korean to deduce conjugations and particles, is to use an online dictionary. My personal favorite is the one found here. |

"This web site is formation of a cabinet of the human waste."
if you translate "this website is a piece of shit" to korean and then back to english that is what you get.
i just dropped two cabinets of the human waste. |

When I was learning German, I looked at Babel Fish and it was nowhere near to a correct translation. It's not helpful at all even when translating German into English. In addition, you can always tell if someone is using an online translator in their papers. heh |

It doesn't translate, dufus, it transliterates. If you convert from English to, say, German, it will likely be closer to a real translation. This was discussed on another thread recently, BTW. |

I know that it is a literal translation. It doesn't take into account the grammatical structure. |
