This looks like this will trump the gomery report. What a joke the liberals. But the bigger joke is that these guys even have a chance of getting back into office.

Hopefully, this will bring down our wreck of a government.

I doubt the Conservatives will be back any time soon..........but what are the polls saying these days?

As a friend of my father once said to a TV news interviewer,"There's not a G^& d****ed one of them any good. They're all a bunch of crooks"!

I hate when old people pretend to be wise when it's obvious they're just being crabby. Confused

Not too clear on the specifics of what has been alleged, but shouldn't this be in the "CURRENT EVENTS" forum?

7 percent change since this Ralph deal.

This Conservative surge frequently happens around this point in election campaigns. Usually, Green, Bloc, and especially NDP voters will head to the Liberals if they see the Conservatives doing too well in the polls.
Also, being tied perentage wise in polls means nothing....it's WHERE those changes are that will determine a Canadian election.

The largest change is in Ontario (downward for the Liberals that is) and they are tied with the Conservatives there, which didn't happen last election. The larger sign of what's going to happen in an election is the percentage of people that believe there should be a change in government and that's gone up to about 58%; anywhere near 60% and above spells danger for a governing party. At the same time Liberals have lost a lot of support in Quebec. Where they've gained a little is in BC, which doesn't matter.
Quebec though is the opposite of what you said - they consistently vote with the party that seems to be likely to win big. Even today Allan Gregg spoke about that:

"In the province of Quebec, the Conservatives now have significantly more perceived momentum than the Liberals and are starting to take away from the BQ," said Mr. Gregg, adding that it's a perception that may move federalist votes.

Quote:
"This is a province that will back a winner," Mr. Gregg said. "We've seen it before. It's the only province in Canada that has a collective sense of its strategic best interest."

It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out in Quebec....I think (not sure) that the Conservative's don't even have one seat there now, so I wonder how many they stand a good chance of winning.

I don't think they'll have enough momentum to win a seat in Quebec but with the Conservatives up there a little bit that'll probably split the federalist vote and I think the Bloc is going to clean house over there, except maybe for Marc Garneau and maybe some others that are personally quite popular. If you look here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaudreuil-Soulanges_%28electoral_district%29
The Bloc just barely got an MP in there for the first time last election but she doesn't seem to be anything impressive, not compared to the first Canadian in space.
This election is way more interesting than the last. I heard just now that there's a spy in the Liberal party that has been leaking secrets to the Conservatives but that no-one knows who it is.
