Seems like a pretty crappy excuse for a choice, but that's all we've got.
Either way, taxes will go up, the cost of living will rise, wages will go down, and democracy will get another slap in the face from our Canadian "Representative" democratic system.
And more Canadian graduates will flow to east Asia for the chance to earn a living.
Nonetheless, which party do you think is the least terrible? |

I need an "anyone but the PC/Reform/Alliance/Whatever they're calling themselves these days" option. |

The only circumstance I would ever support the arse-backwards proportiaonal representation sysem supported by perpetual losers, the NDP would be if the BQ could get votes for every riding in the country, even without fielding candidates-they would more than likely be the Official Opposition, and the distinctly anti-semitic society would leave that much sooner. |

I think 'who do you want to lose' would be more apt in this case. |

Liberals: Past scandals, gun registry debacle. Been in power way too long. However, they've turned in year after year budget surpluses practically since coming to power, kept Canada out of both a recession and the Iraq war, and Paul Martin is the level headed, non religious zealot most Canadians like to run our country.
Conservatives: There's been no conservative government in living memory that has implemented conservative economic policies, unless you define "conservative economic policies" as "giving the USA whatever it wants". The Mulroney government ran up the debt beyond anything Trudeau dreamed of, gave Amex chartered bank status, and then when he quit as PM took a job with Amex. The PCs today want to roll back decades of social progress and run the country on biblical principles. Great.
NDP: Ha ha. Yeah, like you guys got a plan. Not bad watching the Liberal's six in a minority government. They make all kinds of great promises which they can't ever possibly deliver.
BQ: Not a choice if you live outside of Quebec.
Greens: Get a haircut ya dirty hippies! See comments for the NDP and double them.
In my 19 years as a voting citizen, I've voted liberal, ndp, pc, and reform. I'd vote for the liberals this time around for sure. |

I don't especially like the Liberals and their sense of entitlement that has come with too much time in power, however the Conservatives just can't be trusted. The last time they were in power was so disastorous that we still haven't really recovered. As well a majority of canadians don't accept conservative policies when it comes to the social issues. And finally Stephen Harper aka Bush Light can have all the free votes he wants on it but the only way to get rid of gay marriage in Canada is to use the notwithstanding clause, there is absolutly no other way. I don't want to live in a country where we use the constitution to discriminate against a large part of our population because a bunch of church leaders don't like it. Who are we run by Ottawa or Vatican City?
All that said I voted Green! |

Okay, I know some people will probably think this is a bass-ackwards question but....
Can I vote without messing up my non-residency?
Yes, I want to vote for the future of my country but I don't currently want to pay Canadian taxes. |

I kind of figured last go if I'm not paying taxes I don't really have much of a right to cast a vote. |

I feel the same. I'm non-resident so I shouldn't vote. I also got British citizenship a couple years ago, and I sure don't feel the right to vote in any election there (even if I knew how). |

But I love my country...unfortunately it doesn't love me very much right now. Though I suppose, you're right. It might be different if I were paying taxes, keeping ties and all that. |

I do not remember Harper specifically stating he wants to abolish gay marriages-- only that he wants the electorate and the MPs to have a say in the controversial matter-- what a novel idea!

I don't want either running us. I want the citizens to have an effective say in the governing of this country without the antiquated institutions that muzzle us.
