Looks like the Ladies lunch is a go. However Ody suggested a poll for a location so here it is and my mini-review.
Petra's
This is a middle eastern place near Noksapyeong station. Has both meat and vege options. Service can be a little slow, however the food is good and reasonably priced. Probably should let them know if we are having a big group so that they can prepare.
Carne Station
It's a meat eaters paradise near hongik station. Buffet-type place. Vegie options are obvious lacking. Cost is about 20k pp but drinks are extra.
Thai Orchid
Half way between itaewon and hangjin station. Has both meat and vege options. Can do big groups. It's a bit pricey and has a service charge, however the food is great.
Su-jis
At the noksapyeong end of itaewon. Cafe style food that has both meat and vege options. Pricey and service can be slow and of variable quality. However when it's good it's great.
Country Life Health Cafeteria
I've never been there. But no meat options.
Line 3, Sinsa Station, Exit 3
Not open on Saturdays
Must have reservations for 20 or more
Price: 8,000 won per person
PH: 2-511-2402

SM Vegetarian Buffet
I've never been there. But no meat options.
Line 3, Yangjae Station, Exit 5- Take a taxi cab for 5 minutes- the restaurant is located across from the Samho Mulsan building.
Price: 12,000 won per person
PH: 2-576-9637

My personal preference is for Thai Orchid... however I voted for Petra's on the basis that it's a bit cheaper.

I abstain. I'll go to any of the places, but 20k does seem a bit much for lunch. |

I like Petras, but the service can be slow and the ventilation isn't that good so when they are cooking up a storm in the kitchen the blue smoke drifts into the eating area.
I'd like to try the Thai Orchard, cos I have never been there

Is Petra's the place sort of above the roundabout - with a big orange sign - and some mean stairs? If so, nice food, but very pricey for what you get? Was there last time and it was 25 or 35 thou for a set menu - which while nice, certainly wasn't worth the money.
I voted Thai Orchid because I've never been, but heard good things. But really, not too fussy. Will be nice to meet you all. |

I'd be happy with Petra's or Thai Orchid. It would be nice to have the veggie option. Hope to see you soon! |

Petras is great if you go early and it does have lots a veggie options. Being a hard core meat eater I find myself NOT eating meat when I go to these places because I have addiction to falfel, hummus and taboli. Thai orchid rocks. A bit pricey but damn damn damn the food is excellent and service top rate. Worth the price for the service and ambience.
I assume this is just for the ladies right? I hope to see some sprogs, crumbsnatchers, or curtain climbers...Kids are welcome. Don't have any myself but will be happy to dote on yours!

SM Ching-hai is the best value, and even meat-eaters like it 'cause they have all kinds of textured-protein meat substitutes. They have a very elaborate all-you-can-eat buffet for 13,000 won. If the weather's nice, their outdoor (large, round) tables are very good for group conversations. To reserve tables for a large party call 02-576-9637 - they usually have someone there who can speak English well enough.
Getting there is a little tricky: Take orange line (#3) to Yangiae Station (342) exit 5. From there it's about a five minute bus (in front of Nike store) or taxi ride (have the driver call their number for exact directions - basically it's one right turn at the first major intersection, go over a bridge, and it's across from the Paris Bagette bus stop...) |

Damnit, I'd really like to go but I'm not sure I'll be able to make it THAT weekend..... didn't vote since all choices sound fine and there is only a 10% chance of me being there anyway . |

If it ends up being at any place that finding it is described as "a little tricky" I won't even try to attend. Anything with direction that include a subway stop, an exit number and a very simple map will give ME that extra push to try to come, however.
I get lost a lot. |
