Things that you may think are no big deal and you try to pass it off as nothing sometimes build up inside. You may not even know it but eventually it comes out and not necessarily the way you want it to. This provides you with both protection (anonymity) and relief.

This just started pissing me off officially yesterday. Every time I go to a cashier in this country with a Korean friend/student/ coworker/date-whatever, it's the same experience. They tell me the bill I Korean, I give them the appropriate amount of money, then they hand my change to the Korean (male or female doesn't matter) I'm with. Usually I'd post asking for clarification or look around to find some cultural explanation but for some reason this is pissing me off and I don't feel like being open minded for once. I'm tempted to just mutter 바보 헝극 사람 but my pronunciation is worse than my spelling and I generally try to increase the peace.

Vent finished, thanks OP, probably saved me some embarrassment in the near future.

What's a 헝극?
Babelfish give me "Hung Pole" which, on reflection, doesn't seem like such a bad thing.

Damn!! THat happens to me all the time!!

Here's one that hit me today. Students ask me how to pronounce a word, I tell them. They seem surprised. Run to Korean teacher, ask her. Then come back in and saying in Korean "see, I told you David Teacher was wrong. Min-ju teacher said it is *******"

Twisted Evil Twisted Evil How the hell are these kids thinking that a Korean knows how to pronounce an English word better than me!!!

How Cubanlord daily posts threads on the most mundane, yawnsome of topics, and gets multiple pages of responses, while my attempts at OPing go straight down to page two faster than a leaden ball.

There, off my chest. And I don't normally say "off my chest," either, as I really don't understand it. What's it doing on my chest to begin with?

I hate that too. I ask who's the native speaker here, and they always say that the K teacher is. I think it's just brainwashing on the academic system's part.

Kermo:한국 사람 (like my caveat mentioned, my spelling is terrible) was what it was supposed to be, but I like the Hung Pole better, the obsession with "STAMINA" here has to make it some kind of insult.

My thing that has been building up is this annoying coworker who won't stop talking about the world cup. I have made it clear that I do not care about the topic but he just keeps right on talking...everyday! argh! I found I was getting really edgy with my kids and my partner this week and I couldn't figure out why...until yesterday when I realized I haven't had one ounce of peace or quiet at work since the bloody world cup started.

Please save me or lend me your shot gun.

Gum could be more flavourful, don't you think?

I mean, with all the technology at our disposal and the myriad of chemicals that are destroying our planet, you'd think that they could use some of it - or one of them - to make the taste of a Chicklet last longer than six minutes, ya?

Whew, that's been hanging over me for a while.

Golden Lama. I think the technology these days could insert a hot wire into your head aimed at a certain, exact location in your brain. That way you'd always think you had a fresh chicklet on the go. They've tried it with chickens and need human volunteers.

My vent is about my toilet. It's lame. It needs tender loving care or it'll flood the place swirling turds everywhere. The architect ought to have integrated more cutting edge crappers.

I had one all ready to go, but I've suddenly forgotten what it was. I hate that. Okay, stand-in for real gripe: forgetting what I was about to say.

So, it's not the lack of sleep directly resulting from all the nocturnal World Cup madness that's going on, but your coworker talking about it? That's upsetting you? And is it them talking directly to you that annoys you, or does it even bother you when people in your office talk about it amongst themselves?

aha!! I just remembered what it was. I use the Kwik Service motorbike couriers a lot for my work. Companies who use them frequently can get a special Customer Number, which is nice and saves time -- you don't have to give them your office address and directions for finding it every single time you want pick-up or delivery.

Nice & convenient. Or so it would be if the FUCKING CUNTS would just FUCKING input our current address into their FUCKING computer system and STOP sending the couriers to the address we vacated FIVE FUCKING YEARS AGO!!!!

No amount of pleading or shouting at the operators has succeeded in getting them to change the data. Oh, they promise, they swear up & down they've changed it and we don't need to worry, next time we can just give our Customer Number and they'll send the courier to our current address. Five FUCKING YEARS and they still read back our old address whenever we ask them to confirm.

And if we take them at their word that they've really updated their customer database and we don't bother confirming the address when we call them, sure as shlt we'll get that call from the confused, flustered courier who's over at the old address and wondering where we are. Mad

Man...I am right there with you. The World Cup is forcing me to root for any team that is playing against Korea. These F#(@ers don't know how to shut the F38K up at 4am. Evil or Very Mad
