One of my Korean female friends (honestly more of a friend of my wife) has just escaped a relationship with a foreign guy here.

Now the stories if what happened are coming out. Her face was bruised once and when my wife asked her about it and she said she just "fell". Always a suspicious sign.

Turned out she was being abused regularly by him. Some of the things he did.

1. Wrapped a phoneline around her throat
2. Hit her in the head with a handphone.
3. Covered her face with a pillow so she couldn't breathe.

She is a highly strung girl but there is no excuse for this kind of behaviour.

He is a regular and well liked poster on a few teacher's websites including this one.

I don't want to get slanderous by giving any hints to his online persona but it just goes to show that some people can have vastly different personalities than their online personality suggests.

It also shows that domestic abuse here is not confined to drunk adjossis sadly enough.

I hope the *beep* gets deported. What an asshole. Is she willing to press charges or anything? Bring him over to me; I'll show him how to treat a woman. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Of course it'll involve a tire iron and a fishhook.

If he really did those things you mention, then he needs to see someone about his anger, not later, right the hell now.

Seriously, are you going to let him move on to the next victim?

His actions affect all of us men, in many many ways, especially in Korea.

He needs to be talked to.

That behavior is unacceptable in any society.

Hearing about things like that make me wish I was still in the Police... and glad I'm not. No-one should get away with that behaviour, in Korea or not. Makes my blood boil.

There were many other incidents too. It was an ongoing situation as opposed to isolated incidents.
