He sounds very young and stupid. First he wants to bother talking about college days, probably because he just got out of college. Then he probably caused trouble at work and the other teachers didn't help him..(I wouldn't either), then he wants to report the school (hoping someone is illegal) for revenge.

That's it, Bellum, keep on imagining scenarios about the OP's situation. |

What I said was exactly what he was doing. Show me where I was wrong.
OH I get it...
The other teachers were wrong because they should have been kind and sweet when he forced himself on them. They should have answered every question he asked with a "Yes Sir". They don't know him or like him, but they should put themselves out on a limb to help him. He has every right to assume they are illegal and report them because he is doing the correct thing and it is not out of petty pathetic revenge. Even if the teachers are not illegal, and he has no reason to think they are, he can disrupt their lives because he is so important that they should have helped him fight the evil school owners.
I can see it so clearly now...you are right...he is blameless for his own situation....it must be a conspiracy of illegal teachers out to get him.
Next time I ask a question to any of you..you better answer or I am reporting you for being illegal. I am for sure at least as important as the OP. From now on call me

Fake degrees? 'Tis to laugh. A friend of mine, in Korea 6+ years and teaching for several at a university has filled me in on a dirty little secret in beautiful and perfect K country univ. life. The university this friend works at teaching english will SELL a BA in English to anyone who wants it! Got cash? Will educate!
See? You don't have to bring one from home anymore. |

Dear Mod. Please refrain from using the phrase 'please refrain' for awhile. And what exactly is wrong with necrophelia? I think the neck is a very sensuous place on a beautiful woman's body. |

I am very tempted to report my former school as they have some random foreigner teaching my classes and I can't imagine that it's legal.
I too got fired last week in the 11th month of my contract and even though I am well set to go to the Labor Board it still annoys me greatly that my school thinks it is above the law. They even went as far as sending out a letter to all my students claiming that I was 'LAZY' after they fired me for refusing excessive overtime.
Should I push the immigration participation button? ..... it would give me the nice little warm feeling of vengeful satisfaction.
Like most things it is all a matter of context and I will let you know what I decide.

| Panic. What did the FT do to you. Your boss screwed you. He will screw the new FT too. Why are you people so bent on hurting the FTs when the hogwon is the one to blame. The labour board is god enough. You most likey will get compensation via that route. Wrecking another FT's livlihood for the sake of revenge on a hogwan owner doesn't make sense. I hope all you rat fink idiots get what you deserve. |

I wish I didn't bother spending 40.000 dollars and four years to become qualified. What a waste of time and money when I hear about others just hanging out in Kangnam and taking the cream.
Then, let's invite the whole world's wannabee backpack teachers, because they have decided to run away, or scab a living while traveling, and figure Korea an easy market. Invite enough of them so that institutes will pay salaries of 1.5 plus dormitory housing because that becomes the common denominator that is accepted. |

Doesn't the hagwon employing illegal workers get in substantial trouble with immigration?
And if my hagwon wasn't so able to employ an illegal scab worker it's possible I would have never been so abused and then fired. It's possible my hagwon director wouldn't have tried to force me to work excessive overtime and then punitively renegotiate my contract during the busiest session. Alas I find myself teaching my hagwon about both Korean Labor Law and sound business practices so as a good teacher it's a tempting idea to make the lesson as memorable as possible.
If it wasn't for illegal scab labor we would have far greater protection from the market place. [Please note this angry idea excludes all F-2's who are well positioned to take full advantage of the ESL market. Kinda wish I was married now.]
However I would personally contact the Foreign Teacher and warn them off, if I did report my hagwon. I guess I have some morals

Oh, and for those who even bothered to read other threads, those other teachers haven't just stood by while a legal teacher got the shaft from the crooked hogwan owner- they actively helped. Are they still your heroes?
|
I did read all your threads and PMs. I missed the part where these people did anything directly to worsen your situation. Please give details. If they somehow actually caused you to get fired or helped then I can see why you would want to report them. I still wouldn't do it - I am a pretty strong believer in that people like that will get what they have coming.
BTW - Have you reported them yet?
Also, you said that they often visited this site and would report back, right? |
