In the end you can read as many books as you want, you will develop your own style. |

For sure, I'm just hoping not to make any major blunders (feeding the wrong thing, dropping the baby, etc..) |

Dr. Spock is still the master when it comes to nurturing the development of babies, toddlers, children and adolescents.
for pregnancy, i found the book, "What to Expect When You're Expecting" to be most useful. |

You can go to www.whatthebook.com There are a lot of childcare books- I even found one that was about how to communicate with your baby through a kind of sign language (it was nominated and/or won some kind of award, as well)! The Dr. Spock book is really comprehensive, and time-tested. |
