Anyone know about Seongdong-gu? Found a lot on the surrounding areas, but not seongdong. Is it a lively place with a lot of things to do? Seems central...

I live in Seongddong-Gu, which is pretty sprawling so I may not know each little bit of it. But it's basically part of Seoul. The neighborhood where I live has all the basic amenities - a few hofs, restaurants (new pizza place just opened a few streets away), an E-mart, an LG Supa, assorted family marts. If you're looking for nightlife like Hongdae or Itaewon or Hyehwa, you'll have to go to those places. But they're all accessible by subway.

Most of it is pretty pleasant. It's biggest advantage is being centrally located and having fairly good public transportation/road links.

I agree....lived there for a year. Not a whole lot going on, but less than a $10 cab ride from just about every hopping neighborhood in the city, and most subway lines cut through there, so it's easy to get around.
