I met a person who came from Taiwan yesterday. I asked, "Are you Chinese?" She said, "No, I'm not. I'm Taiwanese!" I was speechless to hear that. I was thinking to myself "What is she talking about?"
Many people from Taiwan have no sense of what they are talking about. They've been involved into the type of lame politic in Taiwan causing them so confusing about who they are. It's really sad that politic, which is a game of the adults, can cause such damaging to knowledge and origin. |

I really hope you were making a joke though.

Actually, read all of them.

In 1775, most colonists residing in the northeast region of North America considered themselves loyal British subjects. By the end of 1777, most considered themselves to be Americans. Something changed.
Not long ago, most immigrants from the mainland to Taiwan considered themselves Chinese. But something is changing in the mindset of the residents, the same kind of change that happened to a bunch of former British (and German and Irish and...) colonists about 228 years ago, and for the same reason: rebellion and rejection of tyranny from across the sea.
It is not strange. It is the natural evolution of a free and democratic citizenry. You are witness to true progressive history in motion. The times they are a changin'. |

Hello everybody.I have got some words to tell you who don't know history very well.
It's not similar and it's no connection between the America independence and Taiwan break up from the mainland. The new continent was not belong to Britain as the British colonists arrived there.Taiwan has been a part of China since 1,700 years ago,in other words, the Chinese government has governed Taiwan since 300 AD.So we say,Taiwan is a part of China from of old,it is no doubt. And it is the domain of China, domain is the most important thing in our standpoint,we Chinese consider the domain is more important than anything else even our lives.
We Chinese hate war and treasure the peaceful life we have nowaday,as at least 20 million Chinese died in WW2,but if we have to fight for our own domain, then we will do. |

What a joke. Yes, China loves peace just as America loves peace. Everybody loves peace. It is empty and meaningless words. It is easy for the strong to say "we love peace" when the weak do as they are told like good little slaves. When the weak do not want to do what you say, then what? Those who truly love peace will do nothing to stop them from seeking their own destiny. What does China do? It threatens to kill Taiwanese if they do not behave like good little slaves. So China is very much the same as America: it cares nothing for real peace, it just wants control.
Welcome to the happy club of war-monger empire builders. You fit in nicely. |

Of course, China wants to control taiwan just like American wants to control the whole world. In the opinion of China, Taiwan is absolutely a part of China. Just like Usa, it thinks all the world is a part of Amerian.
Taiwan is weaker than Iraq , while Ameican is stronger than Chinese mainland. Both China and Usa love peace. But there is a war between Usa and the weaker Iraq, while there is no war between mainland and the island.
SO all the people can get a conclusion:_________ |

| Well, each person can generate thousands of supportive ideas to support his/her point of views on each particular topic. However, let's be as simple as we can. In my opinion, you should never forget your heritage because of whatever reasons, especially when it comes to politic. Politic is simply a game of the adults that have been playing years after years. I don't care whether Taiwan is part of China, but I boldly assert that there is nothing called Taiwanese. "Taiwanese" only exists in the form of greedy politic. (I'm not even a Chinese or "Taiwanese") |

I don't think that's a joke,it 's so serious. Where do you get your source, which said China threatens to kill Taiwanese? As far as I know,China never threatens to kill Taiwanese civilians. The only one we against is the minority in Taiwan who are looking for independence.Do you remember what I say?Our people from mainland and the people from Taiwan are compatriots,we have many relatives live in Taiwan, and we have the same blood flowing in us.
Can you tell me where are you from and how much historical knowledge of China do you know?If you just know a few about that, then please don't rumor source here with no proof, and why don't you go back to learn more. |

Perhaps, there is no war between mainland China and Taiwan, but China has its missles aimed at Taiwan. And if Taiwan decides to separate itself from China, what will China do?
Obviously, some people in Taiwan want to call themselves "Taiwanese" and that bothers China very much. So, how much will it bother China if one day Taiwan seeks independence? Already, some of the people there are separating their identities from China by calling themselves "Taiwanese."
Also, people in the US certainly don't see China as part of America. They pretty much know that China is China and Japan is Japan. The problem I see is that these countries like to COPY the US. Haven't you noticed that the younger generation of Japanese are coloring their hair blonde???? Even Chinese Jackie Chan now likes to make American movies and live in America. |
