You have revealed me as an impostor in the knowledge of english.

I had vanity in mind and that resulted in a misconception.

Vain it is, and I stand corrected and humiliated.

Be my friend.

I like to be praised and at least you demonstrate humour.

Tell something about yourself, where you are living, occupation, how much knowledge you have of english etc.

Hi!
Well, I am living in Bulgaria, studying Informatics and having a kind of strange knolwedge in English. I mean that I don't know many words, but I have a sort of feeing for that language. Sometimes I feel as if it is flowing through my veins instead of Bulgarian. But my grammar and language structure are somehow old, even archaic. Anyway, what about your knowledge?

I was taught french, german and english supplying my mothertongue danish before I went to school.

School and university education lasted 18 years.

30 years I practised medicine. In retirement I worked for 2 years in a lepercolony.

Knowledge as I spell it.

Well, you seem to be a respectable man, although a bit conservative:)
As to me, I have various interests in various fields but I suppose that the main works of my life are going to be in the fields of computers and hermetism;)
Generally I can believe in anything, if I choose to. And I don't keep any belief for more than a month. Every new month I have a new idea of the world. That's a funny thing and sometimes puts me under the impression that stupidity must be haunting the mansion of my skull;)
Anyway, what are your interests at present. I would like to find someone with whom I can have good and mutual discussions. I tried talking on religion topics but most people in this forum are muslims and never try to understand what I am saying. They just keep on repeating that Allah is the only God and that's all. Well, they may be right, but I hate it when I say something and no one pays any attention to it.

The last 2 years I have been much occupied by the computer, and first now I manage this system rather uncomplicated.

In a garbagebin I found a biography by Anthony Holden about Sir Laurence Olivier, a famous english actor, the reading of which is for the moment a great fascination to me.

Now I am tired, but I would like to keep up the correspondence.

This is the worst ever way of ending a conversation !!! stunning! May i ask, are you tired of the so-called conversation or is it that all of a sudden exhaustion crunched you and you couldn't resist slumbering?

now, old chap, i thought this forum was frequented only by young studs, it appears a few fellows like you happen to step in occasionnaly.

beware, the internet can burn a lot of your free time, and it just might be better spent elsewhere.

anyway, i hope you'll post some relevant info in here.

I am being asked to participate with relevant information that was a hard one to tackle.

I seldom have much in common with people. This trait has followed me from child because I am easily bored.

Please tell me, how you would like me to participate?

if the question was intended for me to answer, then i'd say, i don't know!
nobody should dictate your behaviour and certainly not on a forum.
i hope that your own personnality and creativity will make your participation in this forum a pleasant and rewarding one for most if not all of us.

I am always interested to know how someone who is well-educated and intelligent can be bored? Today with internet and computers, there is always something you can be doing, and there are old standbys, books, radio TV and so on.
Since your life has been dedicated to medicine perhaps you can comment on jailing of Dr. Jack Kavorkian, in USA for assisting someone with Lou Gehrigs disease (ACLS) to commit suicide.
Then there is case of Terry Schiavo also in USA, who was allowed to starve to death when a judge ordered her life support to be removed after 15 years in a vegetative state.
Personally in latter case, I think that once the judge had ordered that she die, humane thing to do would have been to kill her humanely.
If you allowed dog to starve to death in USA you would be jailed for it, and yet world watched for almost two weeks while this poor woman slowly died.

Every decent doctor in his lifetime
killed some patients and hopefully
not out of lack of judgement or for
reasons of insanity, but out of compassion.

I strongly advice doctors never to give in
and discuss the subject, because this will
always create repercussions of unknown
dimensions.

Personally I prefer eutanasia without
legislation. It is always a personal
responsability between you and God.
