I have no idea, BMO... But Yak-Me is different enough from yucky (which is slang for something that tastes bad) that I doubt that is what was meant. Coudl it have been yak meat? I wonder how that tastes. And I don't know if poor is meant as the opposite of rich or of good.
Also, I think some (maybe most) would spell it as yuckie. |

Your overall interpretation may very well be correct, BMO, but I'm not so sure about yuck-me. I don't understand why -me would need to be tacked onto yuck. |
