Is there any difference between "on weekends" and "on the weekend"? |

Generally, no, but in some contexts, there could be. Do you have a sentence that is giving you trouble? _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |

For example, is "Jim usually exercises on weekends." the same as "Jim usually exercises on the weekend."?
Does the frequency adverb make any difference?
Thanks for answering my question. |

I think they both mean the same thing as you have used them. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |

i would suggest that 'on weekends' refers to more than one weekend in a row and 'on the weekend' refers to one particular weekend
